Threshing oats on the McGregor Farm in Hammond

A stationary threshing machine set up outside the McGregor barn. Bundles of oats are being fed into the thresher. The straw is being blown directly into the barn while the oats are bagged beside the second Ford tractor. Three neighboring families, the Barneys, Hunters, and Hollisters, shared the threshing machine. They went to each family’s farm to do the threshing and put it up in the barns. Circa 1951-1952. Hammond, NY. Photo donated by Jennifer McGregor.
