Inside the “power plant” at Wilna Machine in Carthage

Workers, covered in soot and  holding shovels, stand in front of the coal (?)-powered furnaces. These fires heated the forges of Wilna Machine, a machine shop located near the Carthage paper mills. Circa 1890-1900. Carthage, NY.
