Teaching is a major profession of many of SUNY Potsdam’s graduates. Thomas Stowell teaches an early class of college students at the Potsdam Normal School, predecessor to SUNY Potsdam, in the late 1800s. Stowell Hall on the current campus is named for him. 1890-1900. Potsdam, NY.

Campus Security, now called University Police, not only use their patrol cars, but also have bicycles to patrol through many areas of the campus, including those than cannot be patrolled by car.  Here an officer uses a bicycle to descend the long ramp leading from the Crane Center patio area.  Circa 1980-1990.
