People and produce inside grocery store in Saranac Lake
Store or market interior. Man and woman stand behind a counter, little girl is in front holding a large apple and a man with a pad and pen stands in front. On the floor are several boxes and bushel baskets of apples, onions, potatoes and other produce. A sign at the door window reads: “Strictly fresh oysters received daily,” and another sign behind the counter reads: “Leave your orders for fresh fish here.” Large bunches of bananas hang behind counter. A hubbard squash sits on a glass display case. Also visible are a cash register, several rolls of paper and a scale. American flag banners decorate the ceiling. Photograph by Edward T. Start.
