Carl Atiyeh (1911-1997) grew up in Glens Falls, NY. He was the son of Nicholas and Zehia Atiyeh. He graduated from Glens Falls High School and the New York Institute of Photography. His photography studio was located in his home on Mohican Street. In addition to his career as a photographer for the Glens Falls Times and the Post-Star, he worked for the U.S. Army and also from about 1950-1967 as a corrections officer for New York State at Great Meadow Correctional Facility, Comstock.
Images in this collection span 1959-1989, and cover Glens Falls, NY and the surrounding area, including Fort Edward, Hudson Falls, Lake George, Queensbury and South Glens Falls.
