The Potsdam Depot had been scheduled for demolition when the partial bypass of downtown Potsdam was constructed. Public pressure resulted in a successful effort to move and preserve the Spanish Revival Style structure, which is now the home of an Italian restaurant, Mama Lucia’s, a few hundred feet from its original location. 1980. The North Country at Work team visited Plattsburgh in early April of 2019, teaming up with the Clinton County Historical Association to collect work stories from around the region. Here are some of the stories and photos we scanned and recorded, from yarn-making in Chazy to metal fabrication in Champlain to teaching psych in Plattsburgh.
