Threshing outfit in Hammond

Robert Rutherford and Daniel Stout with their threshing outfit. This early machine has a straw elevator rather than a blower. It is powered by a large traction steam engine.  Two bags are attached to the grain chute on the right waiting to be filled with grain. Piles of straw surround the barn in the background. In the right foreground is a sulky. Note windmill, which was probably used to pump water into the house (and possibly barn). Circa 1890. Hammond, NY.
